Accepted? Rejected? Wait-listed?
It's hard for students to get into some of the best universities because some of these universities have gotten rid of their early decision admission option. The recession has also made it harder for all college students to attend any university. Even those students that are not looking at the nations best universities are having a hard time getting enough financial aid.
Should You Take a Gap Year if You Didn’t Get In? If you didn’t get into a school that you really wanted to attend, then taking a gap year is something to consider – and then reapply.
Need Financial Aid? Apply early, especially for federal aid, and make sure that if you have to take out loans, remember – it’s and investment!
If the financial aid package from your school isn’t enough – appeal it! If you got a better package from another school let your other schools know, most schools will match your best package.
Wait-Listed ... What? Fill out the wait-list card, make it clear that you do want to be on the wait list, and keep in touch with the admissions officer. Let the admissions office know of any awards you’ve received since your application.
