Ladders for Leaders


NYC Ladders for Leaders is a college and career readiness program offering New York City high school and college students professional paid summer internships, college scholarship opportunities, free college preparatory and SAT courses, career guidance, and leadership development workshops.

Anyone with prior work experience (paid or volunteer) who is:

· A permanent resident of one of the five boroughs of New York City

· 16 to 21 years of age

· A current high school junior, high school senior, college freshman, or college sophomore

· Legally allowed to work in New York

NYC Department of Consumer Affairs Job Opportunity

United Nations Association of the United States Internship

 

The United Nations offers part- and full-time internships for college students.

Interns must have a strong interest in international affairs, good writing and research skills, and extensive knowledge of the United Nations and multilateral institutions. Interns are able to attend various United Nations meetings, briefings and special events. Registration is ongoing throughout the year.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) Internship

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) offers young adults who have been in foster care the opportunity to intern in congressional offices in Washington, DC. The goal of the program is to educate policy makers about the experiences of foster youth in an effort to inspire change. Interns gain experience and skills that will bolster their careers for years to come.

Housing, travel, and a weekly stipend are provided. The program runs from May 31 - July 30, 2011, and applicants must have completed at least four semesters of college by the time the program starts.
